Manifesto of Southern Azerbaijan Turks and other Turks living in Iran regarding massacre of Syrian Turkmens As you know, Syrian Turkmens have been living in Aleppo, Qamishli, Morshed Pinar, Bayirbucak and other areas. Strengthening in Qara Qoyunlu era, Turkmens as part of Turk culture and civilization saved and kept their own national identity and asset. Once incorporated in the Ottoman Empire, Syrian Turkmens have been exposed to tyranny and discriminatory practices after the establishment of Syrian government. In recent times, after the beginning of civil war in Syria, Turkmens encountered peril of Kurd, ISIS and Bashar al-Assad Forces and exposed to the massacre and their lands occupied. Russian armed forced even further exacerbated the situation and so the depth of the disaster and its dreadfulness and clarity becomes more evident. Raising ISIS as an excuse, Russian war planes has indeed bombarded Bayirbucak Turkmens and slaughtered women, children and elderly civilians. Regarding strategic importance of Bayirbucak, evacuating such important lands and occupying them, eradicating ethnic Turks, sending other ethnicities and forces in order to create their own favorite ethno-political and energy-economy situation there is the main purposes of invaders. We as Southern Azerbaijan Turks other Turks living in Iran, whether from the perspective of humanity or religion and common ethnicity condemn such brutal acts and massacre of Syrian Turkmens as we denounce genocide of Turks in Nagorno-Karabakh, Crimea and Kirkuk (Turkmens), Sinjan (East Turkistan) , we condemn slaughter of Turkmen in Bayirbucak.
